This is a "correction" not an "erasure".  The original timestamp is
preserved and is even shown on the web interface in places, for historical
reference.  So there is no loss of information and an audit trail is
preserved.  History is not rewritten - it is amended with new information.
The difference might not seem like much at first glance, but it is a very
important distinction.
