You have to be more specific, if you need actual help.... if you are not sure that FreeBSD will work with your hardware, you may try it and see what happens.... For the software part: FreeBSD "has" a large collection of software often refered to as ports.But again you have to be more specific, tell the list what you want to do... and people will help you
