James, I'm not well versed on lynx - it is built on top of the WATTCP library. Try a simpler application like PING or FTP which also uses the WATTCP library before you move onto lynx - at least you will know you have the basic configuration settings correct.
Somebody else already pointed out mTCP - http://www.brutman.com/mTCP . That has the basic apps in it, but it does not have a web browser.
