Tested successfully cross-compiling for 
  x86_64-buildroot-linux-uclibc w/o locale

Regression tests successful for 
  i586-buildroot-linux-uclibc w/o locale
  aarch64-buildroot-linux-musl w/ locale

(using https://gcc.gnu.org/pub/gcc/snapshots/13.2.0-RC-20230720)
