Continuing on that line of thought, it should be possible to use the tool called General Ledger or General Journal depending on which version you are using to find the missing transaction. You will probably need to open View > Filter By > Date to extend the starting date of the view back to around late Feb 2017. If the transaction was saved to the book you should find it there.
