Thanks for the information Frank.  However, I was obtaining CAD quotes up until about a week ago.  Nothing has changed on my system and I have had FQ 1.47 since at least the beginning of the year.

I also get quotes for HKD and AUD currently.

Other than building the latest GC from source, there is no way to obtain later releases of GC.  I have had high hopes for Snap and Flatpak, but neither connect with FQ.

Running LInux Mint 18.2 and GC 2.6.17.
I am not sure, GC 2.6.17 can work with the FQ changes.

I tried running from the command line but the only thing I get is:

Finance::Quote fields Gnucash uses:
     symbol: CAD (deduced)        <=== required
       date: ** missing **        <=== recommended
   currency: ** missing **        <=== required
       last:                      <=\
        nav:                      <=== one of these
      price:                      <=/
   timezone:                      <=== optional

** This stock quote cannot be used by GnuCash!

Any ideas much appreciated.

Les
