Please update gpgme to 1.2.0; there a couple of minor bug fixes. Further GPGME has far better trace support which greatly helps to track down such problems: Run your application like this $ GPGME_DEBUG=9:/foo/gpgme.log ./foo On windows it works similar; you just need to use set and replace the colon by a semicolon.
