‘ BLOOD  DONATION  CAMP ‘

Blood donation can be said to be synonymous with saving lives. Blood donors, therefore perform a great service to society. Donating blood is extremely significant and important today, given the rise in incidence of accidents, besides, for a number of medical and emergency situations. Keeping this in mind, the Red Ribbon Club of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, in collaboration with the Goa Medical College, organized a blood donation camp on 10th February, 2011.


The camp commenced at 10.30 a.m. and ended at about 4.20 pm. It received an overwhelming response Dr. Sanjay Korgaonkar and his team conducted the camp. A mobile “blood donation bus” with sophisticated equipment, brought on campus, aided the medical team. A total of 131 donors including NSS volunteers, non NSS volunteers, faculty members, non – teaching staff as well as ex-alumni of the College participated. Overall, the camp was a great success and drew a tremendous response to this social cause.
