Hi,

thanks Sven, it seems that they are part of dbnomics.
https://db.nomics.world/?q=eia
But I couldn't find them in my gretl database list. Is there a process
to get them into the list :-)

Cheers,
Johannes

Hi all,

I just stumbled across the fact, that the EIA is providing some or
most of their data through an API. [1] I noticed that you need to
register, but perhaps there might be a way around it, when we get in
touch with them and explain the possible use case and the options to
them.
I don't know if there's a proper process for adding possible new
databases to the gretl database offerings, but I wanted to explore the
possibility if we could access their API with gretl.

I guess the preferred way would be to nudge them to get integrated into the DBnomics project. Maybe that is already the case?

Otherwise I'd say it's not feasible to handcraft a specialized data access for every possible API out there. But maybe that is already standardized, I don't know.

cheers,
sven
