I would try to reduce the number of emails coming from your app ... I send 2500 to 3000 emails three times a day, I've used MS SMTP as an intermediate step to reduce that to only 10 at a time going to IMail, I'm not seeing any issues. (When I setup IMGate I redirected our MS SMTP server to forward the mail there ... but kept the 10 at a time settings since they worked well)
