We have been using a Barracuda for the last couple of years.  I did not personally do most of the research, but at the time we decided to go with a Barracuda it seemed to offer a lot for the money; a good price point if you will.  It has generally performed well and been effective though not without problems.  I suggest you don't undersize the unit if you go with a Barracuda, especially don't underestimate the number of user accounts that it will have to support.  Too many users seems to have more impact than too much mail per se.  Feel free to send me an email off-list if you want additional information.

Good luck,

Subject: [IMail Forum] barracuda and the like

I'm looking to front end our imail server with an appliance rather than software and wondered what anyone's experience has been with any barracuda type appliance?
