That last part was a question and if I’m wrong then I’m sure someone would point that out.
The bounces are when someone sends email to that domain. I think Dan may be correct about the old DNS at this point. Add the client's server to your HOSTS file, and that should do it. Unless you have a list of valid users, aliases, and lists maintained by the client's server, don't enter the domain into the IMail control panel.
