It's works fine for me(class c 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0.....I'm running
7.10...just my .02

Neither works - I think Imail is bitching about a class b or c subnet
mask being allocated to a class a address

I believe you need either

10.1.1.0 with mask 255.255.255.0        and
10.1.2.0 with mask 255.255.255.0

or

10.1.0.0 with mask 255.255.0.0
