thanks for the response.  I did not mention the aliases in my example, but
they would have been e.g.

virtual host   -  mail.domain2.com,  alias  -  domain2.com  and so on, so
that the server will pick up mail addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED], or
just [EMAIL PROTECTED]  Not quite sure how this would be relevant to the
web messaging problem I have.

I gave information about PTR records (rDNS?), and the sample output of the
nslookup commands I used to check it.  Is there something else the httpd in
web messaging relies on to deliver the correct domain taylored pages?  My
browser is resolving the correct IP for the virtual host, but the httpd
delivers the pages for the primary host...
