Title: Project Manager
Length: 6 months++
Location: New York, NYC

Candidate will work an 8 hour work day Mon- Fri but starting time will be
between 7 and 8 am due to the team being geographically dispersed. Candidate
must be flexible; a self-starter experienced with global teams, and must
have excellent communication skills. PM work skills a must, PMP certified is
nice to have. Data experience is necessary as is IT knowledge and
experience.

Manager expects that within the Deals space, the focus of this position will
be technical projects, delivering Strategic Data interfaces (SDI’s),
covering the process from Requirements through to delivery. This will
require the ability to work with multiple groups who are geographically
dispersed.

Manager expects that within the Economics space, the projects are likely to
be Content Related, and increasing the coverage they currently have in their
database. There will need to be a clear plan, a closely tracked budget, with
regular status updates.

An opportunity exists for a Project Manager within Investment & Advisory
Content Project Management team. The objective of this role is to:
Share management of  the Economics & Deals portfolio of projects
Manage any associated project / program budget
Deliver owned Economics & Deals projects on time, to budget and meeting the
business specifications
Communicate project status, milestones and dependencies
Ensure adherence to Thomson Reuter’s project process

Job Description – Duties and Responsibilities

Define, document and execute several large-scale global projects, actively
participating in all phases of the project.
Provide direction to other project managers within the program as needed
Work closely with Deals Content Specialist Lead and Economics Strategist to
ensure that in-flight and pipeline projects continue to meet strategic
requirements
Work closely with Finance and HR to ensure synchronicity for budgets, and to
effect synergy savings
Complete weekly reports and GPO monthly reports, as well as ad-hoc project
and program review materials
Maintain program risk radar and escalate as appropriate to ensure the
success and delivery of the program
Create project plans and schedules and track progress against plans.
Establish project milestones that reflect realization of agreed business
benefits within timeframe and budget. Identify and track milestones,
deliverables, risks, issues, changes and dependencies within the schedule.
Responsible for project risk management. Identify, assess, manage and
minimize project risks to successful project completion.
Responsible for project change control. Ensure the appropriate solution or
budget is presented so that projected business benefits are realised. Ensure
revisions to the project are agreed from stakeholders and full impact of
changes is understood by stakeholders.
Work with stakeholder(s) to ensure successful completion of all project
deliverables. Ensure all groups are aware of project scope, their
responsibility for delivering projects and milestones. Ensure the right
resources are available at the right time with the right skills.
Monitor and report status from each deliverable group to all relevant
parties. Highlight divergence from scope and adjust where necessary. Gain
commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or
resources deviate from agreed tolerances.
Ensure compliance with Thomson Reuters Project Process. Maintain project
library including all key project documentation.
Perform other assignments as requested by manager.

Job Specification - Experience and Knowledge:

A minimum of five plus year’s project management experience or an equivalent
combination of project management experience, business experience and
education in the financial services business.
Experience managing geographically distributed and multi-disciplinary
project teams required.
Experience of managing project or program budgets
Experience managing business projects with risk management, extensive
project reporting and project management tools experience required.
Experience creating complete detailed plans for complex projects.
Experience in technical development projects within the financial services
industry is desirable
Strong network with divisions, channel, operations & technology groups.
Bachelors Degree required.
PMP Certification suggested.

Knowledge of Thomson Reuters commercial and product architecture and
technology strategy.
Proven implementation skills.
Experience with Thomson Reuters project management process desirable.

Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills to explain
project goals and inspire support.  Strong presentation skills.
Extensive use of Microsoft office and project planning tools.
