I have this issue too on a dual-screen NVIDIA setup, Archlinux, KF 5.18.0.
I don't know if it's related but everytime I close a window I get a lot of
these lines in journalctl :
> kscreen_backend_launcher[513]: kscreen: Primary output changed from
> KScreen::Output(Id: 654 , Name: "DVI-I-1" ) ( "DVI-I-1" ) to
> KScreen::Output(Id: 654 , Name: "DVI-I-1" ) ( "DVI-I-1" )
followed by
> kscreen.kded: Change detected
> kscreen.kded: Saving current config to file
> ...
Despite that nothing changed, and this happens everytime I close a window.
So I wonder if that's why the config gets messed up at some point.
