FWIW, as you have discovered Samba sharing in Dolphin is rather problematic,
regardless of the (lack of) help files. We are tracking the following common
issues (as well as many others):
- Browsing Samba workgroups is unreliable

I had a similar problem and resolved it with `sudo smbpasswd -a <my user name>`
