Bug ID: 455035 Summary: "Up" action should preserve the selected folder just like the "Back" action Product: dolphin Version: 22.04.1 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: programmer.pesesoft+...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Whenever you press or invoke "Up" action from the toolbar button or using a shortcut (e.g. Alt+Up), the previously selected (and focused/entered) directory is not preserved and instead being reset, so when you press any arrow key, the selection will start from the very first item instead of the previously selected, focused/entered directory. Which basically the same behaviour as the Back action, because when you go back either pressing the toolbar button or using shortcut (e.g Alt+Left, Backspace) the previously selected directory is still selected. Yes I know the actual behaviour is quite different as Back means back from where we came from as for Up is going up the directory tree, so I just want the "previously entered directory" is preselected when we go "Up" STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a directory, preferably any directory that is in the middle of the view 2. Go Up 3. Press any cursor to select a directory, e.g Right OBSERVED RESULT - The selected directory is reset to the very first item, so when you are traversing a directory manually and press Up, you have to manually select the last directory which is annoying and tedious EXPECTED RESULT - The previously entered directory is preselected just like when using Back action SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: - macOS: - Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
