Some users like myself simply prefer having a graphical indicator for battery, and taking it away in favour of a static icon is just stupid, to be completely honest. I've already offered alternate solutions, that is users who dislike the new change can disable seeing these new static icons. Some may prefer having a text readout instead, but again, that is an option users can make.
