Ref to your comment#2 i confirm the same error message being printed
during bootup, for latest 4.11.RC5 kernel and 4.10.7-041007-generic.

Have attached a screenshot, please check and advise?

  I get this error message, printed when using a upstream kernel 4.10.8,
  which i know is not support by Ubuntu but wanted to report anyways.
