Yes, this looks like exactly the same bug. It should perhaps be marked
as a duplicate of that one.

Thanks Sebastiaan.

Title:
  System does not resume after hibernate

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Since the update from linux-4.13.0-21-generic to
  linux-4.13.0-25-generic, resuming after hibernation no longer works.
  The problem persists after updates to 4.13.0-31-generic and
  4.13.0-32-generic.

  The system goes into hibernation correctly, shutting down properly
  when the power button is pressed (configured to hibernate system). But
  when the power button is pressed again (or the laptop lid opened), the
  system gets passed the grub menu and then hangs.

  On 4.13.0-21-generic, where hibernation works, the splash screen
  briefly displays a message about loading an img and then boots.

  From 4.13.0-25-generic, the system never reaches this stage. Nothing
  is ever logged in kernel.log or by dmesg, and the system hangs with a
  blank screen. The system is unresponsive to any input. I have to press
  and hold the power button, after which the system reboots as if from a
  fresh boot.

  Desired behavior is obviously that the system resumes after
  hibernation and restores itself to its previous state. Hibernation
  works perfectly on 4.13.0-21-generic, but not since then.

  I have attached the output from 4.13.0-21-generic and
  4.13.0-32-generic of the following for comparison

  $ uname -a > uname-a.log
  $ cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
  $ dmesg > dmesg.log
  $ sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log

  My system is a Lenovo Thinkpad T460 with 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
  I have 14.9GB of swap. The behavior is identical regardless of whether
  I have external screens, mice, keyboards, etc attached.
