*Senior Business Intelligence Financial Analyst Brisbane, California Long term Contract*
To provide business decision support and strategic insight to advance the web analytics, merchant marketing, community, product, and distributed commerce efforts at online dot.com. The candidate will work closely with management to build and track programs to help grow the pool and profitability of merchants and partners with a focus on dot.com sites. This role will serve as a business intelligence, analytics & reporting specialist, responsible for integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources. The individual, reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, will gain exposure to many areas of the company including finance, business development, marketing, product management, product development, account management, international, data warehousing, statistics, and information technology. *Responsibilities:* · Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses for tactical daily operations, as well as for key marketing initiatives and strategies. This requires identifying and understanding key issues, strong analytical thinking, the ability to conduct quantitative analysis and develop conclusions based on analysis/research. Examples include the following: market segmentation analysis; database marketing analysis; return on investment for product initiatives; traffic quality, click-fraud and both traffic detection; etc. · Work with product and data warehousing teams and business end users to understand reporting requirements. Document these requirements, resolve ambiguities and conflicting business/data architecture rules, and gather consensus. Ensure business decisions are sound and data-driven. · Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards that track key merchant, partner, and business metrics. Function as a power user of our business intelligence reporting platform. Assist users in creation of their own reports. · Focus on the establishment and refinement of pricing for key business initiatives. · Collaborate with management and finance to build forecast revenue models and identify key levers to meet stretch targets. · Act as a liaison between business owners and engineers within the company to ensure the data collected and processed is both actionable and relevant to business needs. · Work with business units to develop presentations for senior management and critical external constituents. · Become an authority in the BI processes. Gain expertise in key business operational data and OLAP reporting. Gather, track and analyze key performance metrics for the dot.com websites. * Requirements:* · At least 6-8 years of relevant work experience, especially in Financial and eCommerce analysis; less if candidate has an appropriate advanced degree. Project management experience, especially coordinating/managing multiple projects at the same time. Candidate should have the capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and translate them into relevant data queries to inform direction and strategy. · Technical experience with databases and data warehousing concept/tools and proven capability to strategically problem-solve using advanced quantitative and analytical skills. Solid knowledge extracting data from various large relational databases with Oracle SQL queries and OLAP cubes required. Experience with PL/SQL and building Oracle stored procedures is a plus. · Should be able to communicate fluently with business users, technical personnel and management across the organization. · Training in statistical methodology (multivariate, time-series, experimental design, data mining, etc.) · Experience with an enterprise B.I. reporting platform, especially MicroStrategy, is highly desirable. · Understanding of Internet data, HTTP Request and Response, HTTP methods · Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SQL, PL/SQL, Visual Basic. · Education: Bachelors degree (especially in computer science, math, finance, business, or statistics) or equivalent.
