I had no idea one can do such a thing.
Yes, this solved the problem. Now my HTML tables look like
they are in the pdf file :)
May be I can use this trick now whenever l2h output does not
match pdflatex exactly.
I never knew about this latex env. called makeimage, but
it seems like a really useful one.
