Saya tulis ini terkait heboh perebutan patent antara Apple dan Samsung. OIN didirikan pada 2005 oleh beberapa perusahaan besar (IBM, NEC, Novell, Philips, Red Hat, Sony), kemudian juga Canonical dan Google, lalu diikuti banyak perusahaan/organisasi dari berbagai belahan dunia, termasuk BlankOn, tapi tidak/belum ada Samsung. *) Patent yang dimiliki OIN tersedia bebas royalti utk siapa saja yang sepakat tidak menuntut patent terhadap sistem Linux.
