When I was a complete newbie to the subject myself, I installed MSVC++ 6.0, I printed out readme's for Perl, Apache and ModPerl and I followed the instructions step by step. Compiling Perl and Apache on Win32 was seamless. Compiling ModPerl crashed on the last instruction in the readme, but the ModPerl guys quickly pointed out the right solution to me. All that compiles on WinNT, not on Win95/98. Victor.
