I've added the description of the application/http-index-format format to www.mozilla.org, as the previous URL is no longer reachable; with thanks to web.archive.org.
This format is used between channels producing directory listings and the UI; with help of a streamconverter and a dirindexparser. FTP and Gopher and file: have yet another class in between, each of those a different one (nsFTPDirListingConv, nsGopherDirListingConv, nsDirectoryIndexStream).
