Here is the next installment...

SolarWinds reads the (deprecated) ssCpuIdle OID instead of ssCpuRawIdle. So, in
my mind, whether or not it is a "problem" with a version on net-snmp,
SolarWinds is reading the wrong MIB.

Looking through the file UCD-SNMP-MIB.txt I found lines that say:

    DESCRIPTION
        "Deprecate the non-raw objects."
    REVISION "200209050000Z"

That means the ssCpuIdle OID has been deprecated for over two years, that is
*before* 5.0.9 (the version that SolarWinds suggests we install). So, they
suggest using an fairly old version of net-snmp that is already reading a value
that was deprecate a year bfore that vesion was released.

Do I have the numbers right? Am I missing something?

Regards,

Jim Mohr
