Brandon, put this in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0

DHCP_TIMEOUT=5

This of course, assumes that you are using DHCP. You can play with the value 
(5) to get the best performance.

PS If nothing else, compare what is in ifcfg-eth0 to ifcfg-wlan0.
