I am currently running FreeNAS-8.3.1-RELEASE-x64 (r13452) using the packaged version of NUT, 2.6.5, using the usbhid-ups (Generic HID driver 0.37). Here is the output of "/usr/local/libexec/nut/usbhid-ups -D -D -D -D -D -D -a tripplite":

Here is the content of my ups.conf file:

[tripplite]
    driver = usbhid-ups
    port = auto
    desc = "Home Tripp Lite"
    productid=3016

I have seen previous reports of people getting the Tripp Lite Smart1500LCD working with the productid=3016 option, but it isn't working for me. I have also. Any ideas on a possible fix? Thank you for your help on this, I hope this is useful.

Randy Philipp
