Lukas, your bug is not related to <car> or <xdr>, I added the example you found in the manual to the test bench and it works just fine. Your stack trace indicates that the workitem got dispatched but no reply came from the other side. Maybe you have more information on your 'faulty' setting. I'll close the current 'xdr' bug for now. Feel free to create and document a new one.
