What about using https://github.com/pharo-ide/TelePharo (by MarcusDenker <https://github.com/pharo-ide/TelePharo/commits?author=MarcusDenker>) I've never used but looks like it could fit your needs. Anyway if your client can afford 1 minute out of the business you can stop the image and load a Git repo, save and restart.
