At this stage it does not seem that the API changed, and lately netcdf folk is much more careful about that, so a transition process should be not required. Anyway, the previuosly monolithic package now has been splitted in different source package, and that will require a spacific management to avoid unexpected file names collisions during the upgrade. -- Francesco P.
