I believe that you're hitting the original bug #396636 :) Wait just some hour
for eclipse 3.2.1-4 (I know, this is an "old" bug) being installed for all
architectures and retry without setting anything, and it won't crash!

Excellent, thank you. I am just surprised that providing a copy of libgtkembmoz.so with NS_InitEmbedded doesn't fix the problem.

Also, I wish I could find a document that would tell me how to examine my preferences. I suspect that there's a fix that involves turning off something in the preferences (such as "use system browser"); but I can't find a text file anywhere that sets that preference, and when I try to reach it via the eclipse menus it crashes instead.

In any case, your quick response is much appreciated! If you need me to test anything in advance of general release, please let me know.
