I was trying to reproduce the FTBFS locally (it takes a bit), and so far don't see that this is truly a FTBFS, at least not within a clean squeeze chroot. #597454 says that the issue occurs with docbook2x when install-info is installed, but this package doesn't get pulled in as part of apt-get build-dep eclipse. But now for the question... What eclipse package are you trying to build? Your email states: I'm trying to build Eclipse (4.5.0-1) for squeeze from scratch on x86_64 Is the version number there just a typo? You should be building eclipse_3.5.2-6 for squeeze.
