Upstream advises that this is only needed for building and that it should be compiled for the build architecture. debian/rules configures the flux folder with dh_auto_configure which defaults to the host architecture though. After forcing that subdirectory to be configured for the build architecture, directfb cross builds successfully. Please consider applying the attached patch.
