Unfortunately, messages to the list have a habit of being forgotten about. I would recommend submitting a "wishlist" bug to the Debian Bug Tracker against the jack-keyboard package, with this information, and requesting a new version with your features. The reportbug tool will help with this, but there is more information here: https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting Will you be willing to maintain your fork long-term in case any new bugs arise that need fixing? Answering this question on the bug too is a good idea.
