Hi all, With Pipewire now being the default sound server on Debian 12 Bookworm, I don't think pavucontrol should recommend the package pulseaudio.
Other similar packages such as pulsemixer don't recommend or suggest pulseaudio, and even libpuls0 itself only suggests and doesn't recommend. The issue is that for many users that have Pipewire installed by default, then go to install pavucontrol to configure their settings, pulseaudio will be pulled in unless they explicitly set --no-intstall- recommends - possibly leading to a broken sound system. If the package pulseaudio had it's recommendation downgraded to a suggestion, or even removed entirely since libpulse0 will suggest it anyway and it's a dependency, then I think this would greatly improve the situation and ensure a smooth transition. Kind regards, Cian. _______________________________________________ pkg-pulseaudio-devel mailing list pkg-pulseaudio-devel@alioth-lists.debian.net https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-pulseaudio-devel
