R. David Murray added the comment: I suggest posting your question to the python-list mailing list, you are much more likely to get help there. This tracker is for bugs in python, and what you describe sounds like a problem with your program and/or your setup (if 'import multiprocessing' works at the command line, it should work in a program if run by the same python interpreter as you used at the command line).
