This particular issue is discussed in R-exts, at: https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/R-exts.html#Portable-C-and-C_002b_002b-code You would likely be able to resolve this by calling e.g. 'sqrt(2.0)' instead of 'sqrt(2)'.
