I'm OK with purple, I had a '93 XO-2 in a dark metallic purple. Grant had a bit in the '91 catalog about colors (a Note About Color) <https://www.sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/1991/pages/bridgestone-1991-17.htm> from a time when anything NOT a dayglo color was a negative point against a bike model.
