as an idea, I have the following in resin.xm from an old default:

    <resin:if test="${resin.professional}">
      <ping>
        <!-- <url>http://localhost:8080/test-ping.jsp</url> -->
      </ping>
    </resin:if>

So the ping configuration is actually empty. Maybe this is treated
differently with the latest releases?
