The most recent released version of Spark, 2.1.0, does not include a lot of recent changes to blacklisting (mostly https://github.com/apache/spark/commit/93cdb8a7d0f124b4db069fd8242207c82e263c52). Are the problems you are describing fully explored with the master branch of Spark?
