    Sorry I did not follow up on this thread. The apparent test passing was 
actually caused by a change in the tests to sort the query results before 
comparison. This introduced a subtle side-effect that masked the failure in the 
ignored test. I eliminated that side-effect and found that the test was failing 
again. The test is now marked as ignored again.
    
    The test failure manifests itself as an exception thrown during read. I've 
reset the default value of the schema pruning configuration flag to `false` to 
ensure end users do not encounter this problem should it not be corrected 
before release.
