Hi,

The LiDE 400 is fully supported by the pixma backend (see:
http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-cvs.html#S-PIXMA). You
need to install recent SANE version 1.0.28 from git snapshots
(http://www.sane-project.org/snapshots/).
