On the surface, this seems sensible. I can't see that there are many if any platforms that the backends repo is built on that wouldn't have these functions. In the past, there have certainly been non-standards conformant variants (like snprint() on Windows which I believe is now fixed). What are the general views here? Are there some platform that would still require some of these functions? Cheers, Ralph
