Thanks. That seems to give useful information. Not that I know how to interpet it. Near the end, just before the error message, the UMAX_set_scan_parameters don't look reasonable to me. Are the resolutions DPI? If so, they seem low. Is it OK to have so many of the other parameters 0? Do you see what is causing the diagnostic? | you might also try a 32 bit system just to see if that is it... I booted from a Ubuntu 8.10 i386 live CD. The diagnostic and the debug output looked similar.
