Some points/questions-

1. This version of sane-backends is ancient, I recommend an upgrade.
2. It appears that this scanner (and it's Lexmark version) is not
currently supported
3. Perhaps you can get a log of this machine scanning under windows?
Stef might be able to determine if it compatible with lexmark backend.
4. Is this a StrongARM system?
