Hi Canon imageCLASS MF4430 users, I just committed a fix for ADF empty for Canon i-SENSYS MF4550d. This fix should also fix your ADF empty bug.
Please fetch the recent version from git and test the fix with your MF4430 and report your test results here. Many thanks for your help, Rolf
