I have an Epson SX-425W all-in-one connected over WiFi that I believe uses the epson2 backend. I have not looked at the code so can't really say that it would make a good reference apart from the fact that it works for me.

Hi ,

Is there a reference network scanner backend that you recommend that I check out if I wanted to fix canon_dr so that it would work over wifi ?

I'm proficient in C/bash etc and would be interested in trying to upgrade it if I had something to go off of.

Thanks,

The sane canon_dr backend does not support network scanners. You
will need to do some programming to make it work.

        Hi,

I'm looking to get my Canon dr-c225w working with my Ubuntu
        16.04 distro.

The scanner is wifi enabled so I don't need a USB connected host
        to use it.

My question  is: I can't find any examples (using my google-fu)
that *just *allows a Linux pc to connect to the scanner without
a dedicated USB device...ie only via Ethernet / wifi .

Can anyone point me to a better reference ?

        Thanks,
