Detroit, Mi *Scripting Engineer Specialist * *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * · Utilize Flexera AdminSludio to repackage or test application installations in Windows Installer (MSI, MST) or App-V format in accordance to the BCBSM operating environment standards. · Utilize Microsoft SeeM to create deployment packages in accordance to the BCBSM operating environment standards. · Utilize a database application (DAD) to document application installations as well as report application information and status. · Work with customers and application deployment partners to create solutions. · Perform manual installations as required. Provides 3rd level support as required. *EDUCATION * · Bachelors Degree - Computer Science or equivalent preferred. *DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS * · Experience with Windows XP Professional or later Operating System. · Understanding of Active Directory Group Policies Ability to troubleshoot distributed applications using tools such as Filemon and Regmon Experience with Microsoft Installer (.msi) packages and standards · Experience with VMWare Workstation (or equivalent product) · Experience with systems management solutions such as but not limited to Microsoft SMS and SCCM. · Experience with Flexera AdminStudio (or equivalent product such as Wise Package Studio) · Ability to understand MSI patches and transforms · Ability to understand MSI merge modules, macros and custom actions · Ability to run validation checking · Ability to understand security modifications within MSI packages · Ability to detect and understand conflicts in MSI packages · Ability to detect and understand ICE errors · Ability to troubleshoot MSJ applications Must be able to provide 3'd level support for the installation and the application Good analytical and troubleshooting skills · Understanding of TCPIIP networks · Understanding of Client Server applications · Ability to provide support for distributed applications · Good customer service skills · Ability to work within a team and possesses team building skills. · Ability to adapt to changing environments · Must possess excellent communication skills (Written and Oral) · Must possess excellent documentation skills - Experience with Microsoft Office Ability to multitask · Must be process oriented DEPARTMENT PREFERENCES Microsoft Certified Professional Experience with Application Virtualization including but not limited to Microsoft App-V, Citrix, and VMWare. · Experience with repackaging applications for Windows based server environments including Terminal Services and Citrix.
